Preparation:

  • In a large bowl, combine the oat flakes and Athletic Supplements Vegan Protein Chocolate . The chocolate note of the protein powder gives the bars a delicious taste.
  • In a small saucepan, warm the almond butter and honey (or maple syrup) over low heat until the mixture is well blended and smooth in texture. Stir regularly to make sure nothing burns.

  • Remove the pot from the heat and add the vanilla extract and a pinch of salt. The vanilla gives the bars a pleasant aroma.

  • Pour the warm almond butter mixture over the oatmeal and vegan protein chocolate in the bowl. Stir carefully until all ingredients are evenly mixed together. You should get a tough dough.

  • Add the chopped nuts and dried fruits and mix them evenly into the dough. This gives the bars additional flavor, texture and nutritional value.

  • Line a rectangular baking pan with parchment paper to ensure the bars can be easily removed. The size of the mold depends on the desired thickness of the bars. Press the dough evenly into the pan and smooth the surface with a spoon or spatula.

  • Place the mold in the refrigerator and let it rest for at least 2 hours. This will allow the dough to set and make the bars easier to cut.

  • After the dough has cooled and set, remove the pan from the refrigerator and place it on a cutting board.

  • Cut the stiff dough into bars or squares, depending on your preferences. The nutritional information is per approximately 40g bar.

  • Store the homemade vegan protein chocolate bars in an airtight container in the refrigerator. They stay so fresh and are easy to take with you.

  • Have fun cooking :-)
